  uncommon nonsense
What happens if you set out to write down 15 years of experience in consulting small business? A book of 280 plus pages full of anecdotes, ideas and helpful hints: a different look at running a small business.

What better way to show what it is all about than to give you an excerpt of it:

Uncommon nonsense

“Yet, most things in business are rather simple. You wouldn’t think so if you look at the average book being written about business. I have looked at whole shelves of business books written for small businesses. I found most of them hard to read and follow, although I make it my business advising people about things business.
Hopefully I will succeed in breaking through this barrier. Most aspects in business have a common sense answer. I put it to you that if you can’t find a common sense answer, it’s most probably not worth finding.
That’s why I have called this book ‘common sense’. Then there are those rare moments in business, where intuition and common sense can lead us up the garden path. For those rare moments, I have put in the ‘un’ in front of common to allow for a little bit of uncommon sense here and there.
Finally, there is also an element we have to talk about, where we’ll have to put the ‘non’ in front of sense. You can’t help but stumble across people in business who make things unnecessarily complex. They frequently radiate common nonsense I would like you to ignore.
I know that I won’t make a lot of friends with this book in the ranks of professionals, accountants, lawyers and others, because I will be harsh on them in those areas where they tend to produce common nonsense. So now you know how the name of this book came about.”

A common sense look at running your small business

The bite-seized sections allow you to read a chapter at a time just before you turn over in your bed and go to sleep. At the end of each chapter you will find a few ideas or a bit of ‘homework’ in a section called “for you”. The idea of it all: if you get only one good idea from (un)common (non)sense that you can implement in your business, it was worth my while writing the book and it was worth your while buying it.
